Where Are You!?

I gotta have this!! I was watching Samantha Schuerman and she was doing by far the best Playboy inspired look I have ever seen! She uses the TIGI Bead Head Palette for the whole eye look. As soon as I seen this Palette I knew I had to have it!! Easier said then done, I cannot find this anywhere with out paying over $40 +shipping! I am sorry but there is noway I am paying that much! I found one website that had it for $20, but of course they are on back order! I am gonna keep my eyes open on Ebay, but no luck so far. I really don't want to have to spend more then $20-$35 for it. But if your reading this and you know where I can get one, please please let me know! Thanks! xx

New Dress For The Holidays + Going Out

Well its not the Motel dress I want, but it will deff do for now! I picked this heart shaped dress @ Elder Beerman for $39.00. It has pockets but you can't even tell, I know that's the new thing this season with party dresses and I love it! I am thinking this will be a great Holiday party dress with a dressy jacket or caridgan and some black pumps! It has a hot pink ribbon waist that ties in the back. Sorry the pic is not the best quality I took it with my iphone, but I will post pics of me wearing it soon!

Facials

Since I am starting school soon to be a Esthetician aka Beauty Therapist, I thought it would be fun to share one of the most important things I will be licensed to do, Facials! I can't wait to start working in a Salon/Spa, so here is somethings you may not know about Facials!

Things are slowly evolving
, however, as more and more dermatologists are beginning to offer the services of specially trained Estheticians to their clients. Whether you get your facial through a doctor's office or through a spa or salon, some general guidelines apply.

What a good facial will definitely do: leave you feeling pampered, well moisturized, and deep-cleaned. Select a facialist with the same caution you would a manicurist. They must use clean utensils (towels, latex gloves, etc.) for each new customer, especially in terms of utensils used for extractions.

One word on extractions: When a facialist is extracting blackheads, or squeezing out trapped impurities from clogged pores, slight discomfort is normal. Pain, however, is not. Pimple popping or blackhead removal that is so overzealous it hurts can lead to scarring.

Deep-Cleansing Facial

What it is: A gentle cleansing massage that unclogs pores and exfoliates the dead skin cells on the surface, leaving the skin thoroughly cleansed and moisturized.

Procedure: Skin is cleansed, then massaged. Next, a steam machine may be directed toward the face for a few minutes to open pores. Clogged pores (blackheads and whiteheads) are then extracted. Finally, facial mask is smoothed and left on the skin for a few minutes to tighten pores again, then washed off and followed by a moisturizer.

Good for: All skin types except oily.

Glycolic Facial

What it is: This facial expands on the deep-cleansing facial with the addition of glycolic acid, which enhances exfoliation and improves skin tone and texture.

Procedure: Same as deep-cleansing facial, except glycolic acid is applied after extraction.

Good for: Most skin types, especially those with sun damage, but not recommended for those with highly sensitive skin.

Oily Skin Facial

What it is: An adaptation of the deep-cleansing facial, an oily skin facial involves less facial massage, which can stimulate oil glands.

Procedure: Similar to the deep-cleansing facial, except that oily skin facials use only oil-free products and include the use of astringents.

Good for: Oily, combination, or acne-prone skin.

Glamour On The Big Screen

I am so excited for the re-invented Musical called Nine to hit the theaters! Not only does it have some of my favorite actress and singers but its one of the most Glamorous films to hit the screen since Its Musical sister Chicago! The old Hollywood feel mixed with Italian culture is the perfect film for me! I was really inspired when I seen the Trailer for this film and seen the makeup created for each Character, here's a little about each Ladies looks!

"It's hard to believe that the same man who won an Oscar for his work on The Lord of the Rings (think lots of dirt, grime, and gory battle wounds) could create the year's most glamorous big-screen beauty looks. But that's exactly what makeup and hair designer Peter King did for the new movie Nine, which takes place in early 1960s Venice. "We went through 50 to 60 large cans of L'Oréal Elnett Hairspray and at least 250 sets of false eyelashes since both sum up the look of the '60s," says King. Here, he gives more inside scoop on how he primped some of the film's leading ladies, including Penélope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, and Fergie."

Kate Hudson In Nine:

"Kate plays a fashion reporter so her look was the most stylish. To give her hair extra thickness and texture, we did a lot of backcombing and added a hairpiece. Her makeup is inspired by the '60s supermodel Veruschka, with matte foundation, light lips, and of course, very dark eyes and large false eyelashes. There's no blush on her cheeks at all in keeping with the look of the time."

Fergie In Nine:
"For her role as a prostitute, Fergie needed to look a bit more trashy. So she got a reddish wig with black roots, smoky eyes, and dark lipstick that we smudged a lot. We also gave her a beauty mark, which was more from the 1940s."

Penélope Cruz in Nine:
"Penélope plays the mistress in the film, and we designed her look to be very over-the-top, like her costumes, which meant dark brows, heavy eyeliner, piles of false eyelashes, and a line in the creases of her eye for contrast. We kept her lips a very pale pink to go with the period. Penélope also wore a partial wig so that we could add volume and some rather tacky orangey highlights without damaging her real hair."

Nicole Kidman In Nine:

Nicole Kidman "Nicole's look was that of a classic film star (she plays the main character's muse) so we kept her makeup simple and beautiful with MAC Fluidline gel eyeliner, MAC false eyelashes, soft coral lipstick, and some subtle contouring. To ensure that her hair looked flawless, I created a wig in the perfect shade of honey blonde. This also protected her hair from setting it in rollers every day and made it easy for her to be camera ready."
